Did you know that it is the 25th anniversary of Dairy Queen's Blizzards? That means that they are are offering a special deal right now of buy one at regular price, you get another for for 25 cents. You know what that means in my family? You get your own. You don't have to share it with 2 brothers and 2 sisters and divide the cardboard cup for perfectly even licks of the sweet residue that your brother might have missed. It's only for one week, though. I'll have to tell the kids that "That's it! No more for another 25 years!"
Albertsons' has a ConAgra Foods sale going on right now. You must read the fine print for the deals on the back page. You get a $10 OYNO coupon for every $25 transaction. (BTW--that's $25 before the coupons are handed over). I ordered Peter Pan peanut butter coupons off of Ebay last night and plan on getting my stock for 52 cents a jar. Not too shabby. I've got a better deal on Skippy--but it WAS 2 years ago and I can't predict when I'll be able to get it for 24 cents a jar again. So I think I'll suffer through 52 cents a jar to have peace of mind that we have some on hand. You never know when that peanut crop is going to fail. (OOH. Just kidding--but they DID have a scare last year and all the peanut butter was pulled from the markets--just saying).
Con Agra foods is the distributor of Hunts', Healthy Choice, Van Camps', Dannon, etc. It pays to do a little shopping around to see if there are coupons that match any of these products. The yogurt is an exceptionally STELLAR deal. $2 each on sale, but are included in the $10 OYNO deal. So you can combine it with other products to make a $25 transaction, or just buy 13 packages and slap each package with a $1 off coupon, minus the $10 and you pay $3 for A LOT of yogurt. I ordered the "crushables" that the kids have been hounding me to buy--which come in 6 packs instead of 4 packs. Can you say YOGURT in their lunch everyday for the rest of the school year?
Campbell's has their soups on sale at Albertsons' this week 10/$10. Whoot, whoot...NOT. BUT--if you go to www.campbells.com you can print a total of 2 coupons of Save $1 on TWO...making the gems a mere 50 cents each. Much better. You can only get 4 cans...but most of you don't shop like I do, and 4 cans would be sufficient, right?
Keep that grocery journal going and write what the deals of the week are. You'll be surprized to see that you can stock up on SOMETHING for cheap every single week, and before you know it--you're a Queen and people are hailing to you and asking you how you do it! Just tell them about me :)
